Emma Watson and her "Harry Potter" director David Yates could be reuniting for the big screen, just don't expect the boy wizard to be involved. In other news, Ed Harris and Michael Bay could also be reuniting, Colin Firth ties the "Devil's Knot" and Alan Arkin, Al Pacino and Christopher Walken turned out to be "Stand Up Guys."
It's February 2, and you're tuning in to today's casting call.
Could Emma Watson Reteam With David Yates?
You don't bite the hand that feeds, even if they're causing voices in your head. Such is the case with Emma Watson, who is reportedly considering reteaming with director David Yates for the upcoming film "Your Voice in My Head" for Warner Bros. And this time her costars could be upgraded from fellow beloved young Hollywood stars to heavy-hitters like Tom Hanks and George Clooney. Lucky girl!
Alan Arkin, Christopher Walken And Al Pacino Are "Stand Up Guys"
Move over Sylvester Stallone, some new aging stars are ready to take on the action comedy genre. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Al Pacino, Alan Arkin and Christopher Walken have signed on for a new film called "Stand Up Guys" where they'll play aging criminals. "The Cove" director Noah Haidle will be at the helm.
Colin Firth Joins "Devil's Knot"
Deadline has learned that Colin Firth will be joining Reese Witherspoon in the West Memphis 3 drama, "Devil's Knot." He'll play a private investigator named Ron Lax who was the murder defendants' first pro bono supporter.
John Hawkes To Play Young DeNiro In "Jackie Brown" Prequel
Finally there's some news on "Switch," the upcoming prequel to "Jackie Brown" (which itself is an adaptation of Elmore Leonard's "Rum Punch"). Variety is reporting that John Hawkes will play a younger version of Robert DeNiro's character and Mos Def will play a young Samuel L. Jackson in the Dan Shecter-directed flick. Somehow, we think Quentin Tarantino would approve.
Ed Harris To Reunite With Michael Bay?
It seems like all it took was some "Pain and Gain" to potentially get Ed Harris working with Michael Bay again. Vulture has the news that Harris is considering a role in the upcoming action film that, as the website points out, also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Maybe that's Bay's subtle way of reminding Harris that their previous film, "The Rock," was a relatively big success back in its day.
Mia Wasikowska Joins Dostoyevsky Adaptation
The sophomore effort of "Submarine" director Richard Ayoade -- an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's "The Double" -- is a pretty ambitious project, but at least he's got an awesome cast lined up. Jesse Eisenberg joined the film previously, and now The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Mia Wasikowska has taken a role as well.
