'The Watch' Cast: Costco Nights And Plenty Of Cheese Balls

For fans of Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill, the most intriguing aspect of their new movie, "The Watch," isn't necessarily the plot details but just the fact that the three funnymen are in an R-rated comedy together. Who cares about what the movie is actually about when you know you can count on the comedic stylings of the actors to carry the film? Still, the premise does lend itself to hilarious interpretation by Stiller, Vaughn, Hill and newcomer Richard Ayoade: "The Watch" revolves around four guys who join a neighborhood watch group to help solve a mysterious murder that may or may not have been committed by aliens.

When MTV News caught up with the four leading men in the film ? who were prone to veer off topic and talk over one another ? we asked them what new and exciting thing we get to see them do in this movie that they haven't done before. As is to be expected with professional jokesters, their responses were all over the place and mostly off-topic ? as you'll see in the back-and-forth dialogue below. But we did gain some insight into Stiller's preparation for the role via work at Costco and a cheese-ball eating contest that went awry. "For me, being in [a movie] is what you'll see, because I've never been in one," Ayoade said. "You'll see me showing up." Stiller added, "Yeah, he's never been in one. He didn't tell anybody that before he got the part." "And he is a treat this one," Vaughn chimed in. "[He's] so funny in the movie and does such a great job. He's really good."

Stiller agreed: "Yeah, he does a great job."

Bringing the guys back on-topic, Hill answered, "I think you'll see just an insanely funny movie. That's kind of the idea is to have a really funny [movie]." "Yes, that's something you've never seen before," Stiller joked.

"I don't think you're seeing me do anything you haven't seen before," Hill admitted. "The character's different but it's just a fun summer movie."

"I've never played a Costco assistant manager before," Stiller said with a smile.

"Yeah, you worked at a Costco," Hill said to Stiller.

Playing along with their inside joke, Vaughn asked, "How long did you work at the Costco to get ready? Part time? PT or full-time? You went FT?"

"Yeah. I shadowed the night manager, so it was six months of nights," Stiller joked. "I'm still recovering. [Costco] is a fun place at night. You keep the lights on and you can delve into some of the jumbo cheese-ball jars, watch DVDs."

"Would you watch 'Night at the Museum'?" Hill asked.

"Usually. Most nights," Stiller said.

"Was there ever a 'Night at the Costco'-type thing where the cheese balls came to life?" Hill asked.

"There was, but that was after I'd hit the liquor section," Stiller said.

Speaking of cheese balls, the guys were reminded of a particularly precarious night during filming when they almost lost one of their crew members to a giant jar of the snack.

Stiller explained, "A guy on our crew, we were on set and there was all this real Costco stuff there, he took a bet that he could eat two jumbo-size jars, literally vats, of cheese balls. And he got about halfway through but they stopped him."

"He was starting to get sick," Vaughn added.

"The medic stopped him," Stiller said.

"The Watch" opens everywhere Friday.

Jennifer Lopez's 'Goin' In' Video: A Neon-Colored Feast For The Eyes

Jennifer Lopez's brand-new video for "Goin' In" is a dazzling spectacle of grinding dance moves, eye-popping visuals and a whole lot of glitter.

The video, which Lopez premiered during "MTV First: Jennifer Lopez" on Wednesday (July 25), opens with Lopez blowing a dandelion with her crystal-covered lips. As the spores begin to take flight, they turn into glittery specs floating into space. It's the first of many moments that focus on what looks cool, instead of telling a cohesive story.

Next, she dons a bright pink cape and is surrounded by white wolves, which then cuts to multiple setups of her in various sparkly outfits, popping and locking in front of "Waiting for Tonight"-inspired lasers and alongside an army of dancers. Neon paint spills everywhere, dancers punch through brightly-colored walls, people pound drums with colored sand, cars bounce about and fire hydrants spout colored liquid.

J.Lo isn't the only star of the brightly colored clip. Footage from Step Up Revolution has also been incorporated, showing dancers on the streets. That is also cut with appearances from Lil Jon and Flo Rida, who make cameos on the track.

"Goin' In" was produced by LMFAO's frequent contributor, GoonRook. It's featured on both J.Lo's greatest hits album, Dance Again ... The Hits, which dropped this week, as well as the soundtrack to Step Up Revolution, which hits theaters Friday.

Edgar Wright And J.J. Abrams Teaming Up For Sci-Fi Film 'Collider'

What do you get when you combine J.J. Abrams, Edgar Wright and "I Am Legend" screenwriter Mark Protosevich? A movie we can't wait to see, that?s what.

Deadline is reporting that the trio has teamed up on an ultra-secretive sci-fi project called "Collider." Apparently Wright will direct the film and co-write it with Protosevich, with Abrams producing the project under his Bad Robot banner.

This will be Wright's first foray into the science fiction genre, so we're glad he'll have Abrams and Protosevich to help guide him. Of course, he'll be busy with "The World's End" and (hopefully) "Ant-Man" for the next few years, so it's unclear just when he'll set to work on this. /Film is reporting that "Collider" originated from an idea Wright came up with though, so it is likely a priority for him.

For now, we're just excited that it's in development. Protosevich has been working on a lot of high profile projects that we haven't had a chance to see yet, so we aren't quite sure how his voice will affect the finished product. To date, his most impressive screenwriting credit is "I Am Legend," though he has story credit on "Thor." However, Protosevich also wrote and is producing Spike Lee's upcoming "Old Boy" remake, and he also penned the "Mass Effect" and "Jurassic Park IV" screenplays.

It seems like Protosevich's brand of sci-fi is much more in line with Abrams' than Wright's is, but hopefully that doesn't mean Wright will be entirely giving up his quirky roots for this project. And hopefully it also doesn't mean things aren't looking good for "Ant-Man." Abrams' schedule might be clearing up now that "Star Trek 2" is in post-production, but we'd happily wait a few more years for this movie to ensure that Wright's venture into the Marvel universe actually gets made.

What are your thoughts on "Collider"? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Daniel Radcliffe's Most Anticipated Projects, From 'Horns' And Beyond

by Ashleigh Schmitz

Happy birthday, Daniel Radcliffe! The ?Harry Potter? star turns 23 today. Rather than float into muggle oblivion, the most-recognized wizard in the world has been keeping busy. Since wrapping the "Harry Potter" films, Radcliffe has starred on Broadway in last year?s successful revival of ?How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,? and in the 2012 horror hit ?The Woman in Black.?

Today we toast Radcliffe?s 23rd year by looking ahead to his future projects.

"Kill Your Darlings"
Starring alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Dane DeHaan, Radcliffe will portray poet Allen Ginsberg in this thriller-biopic focusing on the Beat Generation of the 1930s. Most importantly, Radcliffe will don a new pair of glasses for the role. Here?s hoping he can make the on-screen move to contacts in a future film.

"A Young Doctor?s Notebook"
For this four-part British miniseries Radcliffe will share the role of Dr. Vladimir Bomgard with Jon Hamm, at different ages. So far this miniseries only looks to be released in the UK - cue the petition by Radcliffe fangirls for a stateside release.

"Horns"
According to a plot synopsis, ?This rock and roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people, and what the loss of true love can do to a man.? Shooting begins this fall, and will mark Radcliffe?s third thriller since ?Harry Potter.? Do we sense a theme?

"The F-Word"
No, not that f-word. Radcliffe?s first rom-com, starring alongside ?Ruby Sparks? star and writer Zoe Kazan as friends, is set to be released next year.

Which Radcliffe movies are you most looking forward to? Tell us in the comments section below or let us know on Twitter!

Lady Gaga's MRI Checks Out Fine

A little more than a week after Lady Gaga suffered a concussion and some bruises from an onstage collision with a metal set piece on her Born This Way Ball, the singer got some good news: She's doing just fine.

"Went for an MRI," she tweeted on Wednesday (June 20). "No harm from the concussion but it appears my brain is just water and a large floating jellyfish." She then shared just who she got the check-up for, adding a little note to her dad. "@germanottajoe i had them check my noodle," she wrote. "that was your father's day present Il mio babbo!! I thought they were taking me to the zoo. TRICKS."

The injury took place on June 10 while the Mother Monster was in New Zealand when a dancer accidentally hit her with a set piece mid-song. She walked off during "Judas" only to return to the stage after a short break to perform 16 more songs. "I want to apologize," she later told the crowd. "I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show."

Gaga will play several shows in Sydney, including a gig on Wednesday night. She'll play Australia through the remainder of this month before hitting up Europe in July. She has dates slated right through December abroad. She has yet to announce North American dates for her elaborate Born This Way Ball, with a gothic castle serving as the tour's main visual.

In addition to touring through the rest of 2012, Gaga will also release her first fragrance, Fame, in September, which also happens to be the month she will announce the title of her next album, the follow-up to 2011's Born This Way.

'Arrested Development' Movie Will Probably Feature Mae Whitman's Ann

If the latest rumors about the "Arrested Development" movie are true?as started via Twitter by Jason Bateman himself ? then we are very close to the first official day of filming of the highly-anticipated and long-delayed production.

In an effort to temper our excitement over the fact that the movie is actually happening, anytime MTV News encounters any of the series' stars we ask them for their thoughts on the project and what they know about the movie, which is exactly what went down when we encountered the criminally underrated, multi-talented Mae Whitman (aka George Michael's uber-Christian girlfriend Ann) recently at Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con bash.

"My dream scenario is just that everybody gets brought back, every loose end is somehow incorporated because there were so many loose ends and what makes that show so special is all the small intricacies and how everybody ties in together," Whitman said when asked about her hopes and dreams for the big screen version. "To me it would be a grand finale fireworks thing if everybody somehow found this big connection and I definitely know that Mitch [Hurwitz] is extremely talented and will find a way to do that."

So what has she heard about her role in the film and how many days will she be filming?

"All I know that I can say is that wild horses couldn't keep me away."

We won't know for a while whether Ann makes a big appearance in the movie or new season, but in the meantime, look for Whitman's wonderful performance as part of the "special souls" in future hit, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Do you want to see Ann in the "Arrested Development" movie? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!

Matt Damon On Rejoining 'Bourne': 'It's All About The Script'

Matt Damon might have been at Comic-Con to promote "Elysium," but he couldn't seem to get away from one major shadow from his past. The actor isn't starring in "The Bourne Legacy," though recently we found out that there might be room for him to return to the franchise that he made a hit. Now all people want to know is if he'd be interested in doing that.

?Look, I?ve been interested in doing another one for five years,? Damon told Crave Online. ?We just can?t figure out the script. I?m up for it, but again it?s all about the script, It?s got to be a good one."

That reiterates what he's said in the past, and Damon went on to make similar statements to ComingSoon.net.

"I really want to do another one and I think Paul Greengrass does too," he said, "But I think it's the same question we've had after each one. If we really feel we can do it and that it will deserve to live with the other three that we did. If we can make one where we go into it feeling it can be even better than those, and it ends up being in that same ballpark, then we should do it. But If we can't, then we really should leave it alone."

E! Online also spoke to Damon about the project, and he gave them an answer from a different angle. "The Bourne Legacy" has a new star (Jeremy Renner) and a new director (Tony Gilroy, who wrote the first three), so Damon thinks there might not be room for him to return.

"I think the movie will be really good," Damon said of "The Bourne Legacy." "Tony [Gilroy] is really smart, he's a really good writer and a really good director and I'm sure he made a good movie. The question will be if they can franchise that movie, because if they can, then they'll be done with me. They'll just keep making those."

Somehow we doubt that anyone at Universal would turn down the opportunity to have a "Bourne" film team up Renner and Damon, but he does make a valid point. Even though producer Frank Marshall has said it's his dream to see the two of them onscreen together, we might need to wait several more years before that happens.

Would you want to see Damon return to the "Bourne" franchise? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Exclusive 'Friends With Kids' Featurette And Interview With Adam Scott

For Jennifer Westfeldt's latest film, "Friends With Kids," she cast her husband, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd, and Adam Scott as a group of friends living in the city, on the brink of parenthood. Considering that ensemble, it isn't hard to imagine the mood on set during shooting.

"Dour," Scott told us. "Obviously."

"Friends With Kids" hits Blu-ray and DVD today, and we have an exclusive look at the bloopers from the disc. You can also check out our full interview with Adam Scott after the jump!

In all seriousness, Scott said that an ensemble full of people he knows and has worked with really made the whole experience a lot more fun. "You shoot and then you stop, and instead of awkwardly sitting around with 'Getting to know you' chit-chat, you could immediately just f--- around," Scott said.
"That's what you hope for because there's a lot of in-between time, when you're working on a movie, so you hope it's with people that make that in-between time fun."

During filming, Scott worked closely with Westfeldt, who also acts as the co-lead. For him, that came with some added pressure.

"You want hold up your end of the scene, while pleasing them in a director capacity. I think whenever you're in something, you want to please the director. There's always this thing in the back of my mind anyway, where I want them like what I'm doing," he said. "When you're doing that with the person you're acting the majority of your scenes with it, it's kind of double duty. After a few days, I just got used to it. It was fine, but I was kind of neurotic about it for the first week. We've known each other a long time, so it was not a big deal. "

From the start, Scott loved his role, but was concerned that Westfeldt made a mistake. "I remember it was a really good role, and I wasn't sure why she was approaching me, because she was trying to get a movie made and I don't help get money for a movie, certainly as much as some other people who would have gladly taken the role," he said. "I was really moved by it, so I jumped at the chance. I kept checking with her to make sure she was sure she wanted me to do it, and she was, so I was all for it. I was thrilled."

Lady Gaga Gets A Concussion, Keeps On Singing

Maybe Lady Gaga's fans should call her Mother Terminator instead of Mother Monster. The unstoppable pop machine proved her mettle on Sunday night during the last of three shows in New Zealand when she was struck in the head with a pole and just kept on rocking.

Videos of the incident posted online show a male backup dancer accidentally hitting Gaga in the head with a metal set piece while trying to take move it off the stage. Gaga, who bent down to pick up a prop machine gun during the performance of "Judas," staggered a bit and rubbed her head before briefly walking off the stage. But, a short time later, she was right back at it, performing 16 more songs before calling it a night.

Later in the gig, she told the audience, "I want to apologize. I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show." The singer's make-up artist, Tara Savelo, tweeted about the incident on Sunday, writing, "Gaga has a concussion but she is going to be okay. She wants u to know she loves u. I'm taking care of her. Can't believe she finished the show."

Maybe at the next big awards show she can trade notes with Justin Bieber, who recently suffered a concussion? when he walked into a glass wall backstage during an appearance in Paris.

There was other news out of her New Zealand swing as well. After Madonna called Gaga out? during her tour kick-off in Tel Aviv recently by playing a mash-up of her "Express Yourself" with Gaga's similar-sounding 'Born This Way' and then ending the song by chanting, "She's not me," Gaga appeared to respond to the dis.

While playing her follicular pride tune "Hair" during a NZ show on Thursday, Gaga sat down at her motorcycle-shaped keyboard and appeared to respond to the incident. "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work," she said in a video of the speech posted on YouTube in which she speaks in general terms about knocking down others to make yourself feel better. (Speech starts at 2:30 mark.)

"And that doesn't make me feel good at all. That just makes me feel like I'm not being a good human being ... I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music. Because that's really all I care about, is the music ... things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes 'Born this Way' so relevant for me. We're socially in a different place and it's OK, we don't have to all slice and hate each other anymore."

Lady Gaga's Fame Perfume Smells Like 'Tears Of Belladonna'

A photo of the bottle for Lady Gaga's first-ever fragrance, Fame, leaked on Wednesday, but rather than lash out at excited fashion editors and bloggers for putting the design out there ahead of schedule, Mother Monster took to her Twitter to open up a bit about the perfume.

"Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked. Oh you fashion editors I could just crinkle my hands at you!" she wrote, before posting her own photo of the bottle. The container is deep purple/black with a gold, spiked top. (How very Mother Monster!) The front of the box indicates that it is a "black fluid."

Gaga then tweeted the back of the box, which describes what all her Little Monsters will smell like when they wear it. The description explains that the fragrance has notes of "tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops."

When asked by a fan on Twitter if Fame will be followed by a men's cologne, Gaga replied, "My perfume was designed for women, but a lot of my gay friends wear it."

Fame has long been in the works. Gaga originally signed a fragrance deal with Coty Inc. in September 2010, and rumor had it that it would be called Monster. Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing in the Coty Beauty division, said at the time that they wanted to work with Gaga because she is a "phenomenon" and "a fascinating cultural force" and he hoped her mass appeal would "electrify" the market on behalf of his company.

In early 2011, months after the deal was announced, Gaga had a very colorful description for the perfume, noting that it would smell "like an expensive hooker." "[Blood and semen] is in the perfume but it doesn't smell like it," she told an Australian radio station at the time. "You just get sort of the after feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is sort of primal. And the blood was taken from my own blood sample so it's like a sense of having me on your skin."

The fragrance will hit shelves in September, just in time for her next turn as a Vogue cover girl, MTV Style reports. September is shaping up to be a big month for the singer as she will also announce the name of her next album then.

Lady Gaga Lacks 'Maturity' On Next Album

Lady Gaga is slowly but surely revealing to fans what her next album will sound like. And she claims she isn't looking to sound more grown-up anytime soon.

During a concert stop in Perth, Australia, over the weekend, Gaga revealed some details about what the album, her follow-up to 2011's Born This Way, will sound like. Before launching into her new track "Princess Die," which may appear on the new album, she teased her Little Monsters a bit about the highly anticipated album release.

"It's not about you, it's about me. This whole thing is about me," she joked about "Princess Die" in footage posted on Press Party. "Oh, the vanity of a singer. So I wrote this song and in a way it has a bit to do with the rest of the album ... well, I'm not gonna say anything.

"Let's just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity," she said. "And I feel that, on the next album, there's a lack of maturity, it's a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility."

In addition to the new song and those minute details, Gaga shared with her fans that she will announce her album's title in September. It's an album title she's actually had in mind for a very long while, sharing with MTV News back in December that she had already had picked it out.

"I've started writing it and I have the name for it and all the concepts are beginning to flourish and take place," she said. "I'm excited to put it out, but it's not done yet. So I'll put it out when it's done."

While Gaga is currently on her world tour, she is cooking up tracks for her new album's release while on the road. "I get a little bit of anxiety thinking about that right now. I wanna just always try to outdo ourselves, our songs. They're already incredible songs. But I feel like she's so young," her longtime producer Fernando Garibay said late last year, adding that at the time, the record was in its early stages and that "there's a lot of room to grow."

"The last record we made in bus stops and hotel rooms," he said. "Wherever she's at, we'll make it."

Sylvester Stallone's Son Sage Found Dead

Sage Stallone, son of famed action star Sylvester Stallone, was found dead Friday (July 13), according to TMZ. He was 36 years old.

While many of the details surrounding Sage Stallone's death remain unclear, a source told the outlet that an overdose of pills was the cause of death, but L.A. police are still trying to determine whether the overdose was intentional or an accident. He was reportedly found by his girlfriend.

Sage Stallone famously appeared opposite his father in "Rocky V" as the iconic character's onscreen son, Rocky Balboa Jr. He later appeared in the 1996 disaster film "Daylight," once again opposite his father. Sage Stallone acted occasionally in the years after, mostly smaller-profile films and only doing one every year or so. He also directed two films and produced one more.

He is the son of Sasha Czack.

TMZ reported that Sylvester Stallone is a "wreck." The action star made his last public appearance Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con. Stallone was there appearing on the panel for his upcoming film "The Expendables 2," in which he stars alongside other icons from the action genre like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The panel at Comic-Con was somewhat of a tribute to Stallone's career in action movies. Before appearing in front of the crowd in Hall H, an extensive montage of some of his greatest onscreen action moments played for the crowd. He talked about hoping to return the over-the-top action genre to its former glory of the 1980s.

Lucy Liu Battles In Exclusive 'Man With The Iron Fists' Image

By Meg Malone

Anything presented by Quentin Tarantino is definitely worth checking out, and "The Man With the Iron Fists" is no exception. Wu-Tang Clan's RZA has taken on triple-threat duties, directing, co-writing and starring in this project, and we are psyched to show off an exclusive image from the film.

Those rich pink, red and gold background colors are absolutely striking, and the blurred effect definitely lends itself to the fast-paced action expected from a Kung Fu movie. Not sure I would be as calm as Lucy Liu seems if I only had a fan (albeit with spikes) to protect me from a guy wielding a claw on a stick, however, as we saw in the red-band trailer released last month, we already know she can definitely hold her own in the midst of action and extreme violence.

RZA will play a weapon-crafting blacksmith in a 19th century Chinese village who joins the fight to protect his community against threatening forces. The film was co-written by Eli Roth and also stars Russell Crowe. Plus, since RZA knows good music, there will also be a rocking soundtrack. (We'll be talking to RZA at Comic-Con, and you better believe we'll get all the scoop!)

The Killers To Return On September 18 With Battle Born

The Killers will officially return on September 18 with Battle Born, their first album since 2008's Day & Age and the first since announcing they were going on hiatus in 2010.

The album takes its name from the phrase emblazoned on the flag of their home state, Nevada (it's also the name of the Killers' studio), and has already been preceded by triumphant first single "Runaways." Other songs on the album include "Here With Me," "Flesh & Bone," "Heart of a Girl" and "Carry Me Home."

Battle Born features production from a host of heavyweights, including Daniel Lanois, Steve Lillywhite, Brendan O'Brien and Stuart Price, who helmed the sessions for Day & Age. In a press release issued Tuesday (July 10), a spokesperson for the Killers said the band will play "select dates" in support of the album throughout 2012.

During the band's hiatus, frontman Brandon Flowers released a solo album, Flamingo, which was followed by solo efforts from drummer Ronnie Vannucci and bassist Mark Stoermer. They returned to the stage in April 2011, with a headlining gig at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chile, and then began working on Battle Born the following month in their studio. Last month, they officially unveiled their new disc via an appropriately epic teaser trailer, which featured plenty of flames, and, of course, nearly as many synths.

Lady Gaga's Indonesian Flash Mob Made Her 'Cry So Hard'

Late last month, Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her June 3 concert in Jakarta, Indonesia, after protests from Islamic groups led to national police denying her a permit for the show. But now, a different group of Indonesians has taken to the street, this time to show their support for the Mother Monster. And it's left Gaga in tears.

In a show of solidarity and support, 91 of Gaga's biggest, bravest fans ? dubbed the Indonesian Little Monsters ? gathered at Jakarta's Ex Plaza Indonesia shopping center for a flash-mob tribute to the singer. They were dressed to the nines in their Gaga finest, breaking into a choreographed dance number while surprised shoppers looked on ? and filmed the entire routine on their camera phones.

In the 10-minute video, uploaded on Saturday, the group grooves to Gaga hits like "Telephone," "Bad Romance" and "Judas" before triumphantly embracing at the performance's end. And as if their routine didn't serve as a loud enough rebuke against the nation's conservative Islamic groups, the Indonesian Monsters end the clip with a message to both those groups and to Gaga herself, writing:

"Tons of rejection and hatred are everywhere. But still, we will always [get] your back. We respect your decision [to cancel] BTW Ball, and it doesn't change how much we love you. We love you, Mother Monster, 'til the end."

Understandably, Gaga was moved by the outpouring of support, posting the video on her Twitter account, along with a response to her Indonesian Monsters.

"This made me cry so hard," Gaga wrote. "I love you so much. You are the best fans in the world."

Adele, One Direction, Nicki Minaj Top Mid-Year Album Sales Chart

Unless you just woke up from a coma after taking an interstellar trip on the Prometheus spaceship you probably noticed that Adele has been killing it on the charts this year. In fact, at the mid-way point of 2012, according to Nielsen SoundScan the singer's unstoppable 21?, which came out in the beginning of 2011, is the best seller of 2012 so far.

Through the sales week ending on July 1, Nielsen SoundScan reports that the disc has sold 3.69 million copies, making it the only disc this year that has sold more than one million. Wayyyy behind is the year's surprise #2, veteran R&B singer Lionel Richie's country duets album Tuskegee (912,000), followed closely by One Direction's Up All Night (899,000), a greatest hits collection from the late Whitney Houston (818,000) and the NOW 41 hits compilation (714,000).

Rounding out the top 10: Carrie Underwood, Blown Away (602,000), Luke Bryan, Tailgates & Tanlines (575,000), Nicki Minaj, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (557,000), Drake, Take Care (549,000) and Adele's debut, 19 (539,000). Other notable albums in the top 20 include: Justin Bieber, Believe (#12, 490,000), Madonna's MDNA (#13, 484,000), Black Keys, El Camino (#16, 424,000) and Rihanna's Talk That Talk (#17, 424,000).

When it comes to download song sales, it was all about Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know." With more than 5.5 million in sales, it is one of two songs to move that many units this year, with Fun.'s "We Are Young" hot on its heels at 5.09 million. Both songs are record-breakers, since, according to Billboard no song has ever sold five million copies in the first six months of a calendar year.

With no end in sight to "Somebody"'s sales, it could become the first tune to sell six million downloads in a year. The third best selling download of 2012 so far is another inescapable tune, Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe,"? (4.06 million) then Kelly Clarkson's record-setting? "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," (3.32 million), Minaj's "Starships" (3.16 million) and Maroon 5's "Payphone" (3.08 million).

Rounding out the top10 are The Wanted with "Glad You Came" (2.9 million), One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" (2.9 million), Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" (2.8 million) and Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" (2.6 million). Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" just missed the top 10 (#11, 2.5 million), edging LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" (#12, 2.1 million), Katy Perry's "Part of Me" (#14, 2 million), Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild & Free" (#15, 2 million), Drake's "The Motto" (#18, 1.8 million) and Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" (#20, 1.7 million).

It should surprise no one that digi-phobe Jack White topped the vinyl album sales with his solo debut, Blunderbuss? (18,000), with the Key's El Camino just behind (17,600) and perennial album fetish object the Beatles' Abbey Road at #3 (15,700).

Overall music sales, which includes album and tracks, are up four percent over the same period last year with overall album sales pretty much flat. CD sales continue to account for the bulk of albums moved at 61 percent, though that's down 5 percent from 2011, as digital album sales were up 14 percent, putting them on a pace to set new sales records by year's end.

Justin Bieber Busted For Speeding In Paparazzi Chase

Another day, another paparazzi dust-up for Justin Bieber. The "Boyfriend" singer, who is already facing potential legal action over a previous criminal battery complaint? after a shoving match? with a tabloid snapper, was pulled over in Los Angeles on Friday (July 6) after allegedly flooring it to evade the paps.

According to TMZ, Los Angeles police cited Bieber, 18, for speeding on the 101 Freeway. An alleged witness to the singer's lead foot, Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine, told the site that he thinks Bieber should have lost his license, been arrested and locked up.

Zine, who was an LAPD motor officer for 18 years, happened to be on the 101 when he allegedly spotted Bieber's tricked-out, all-silver Fisker Karma zooming by at what he claimed were speeds exceeding 100 m.p.h. The councilman claimed that Bieber was trying to lose a team of paparazzi who were chasing him.

"Bieber was driving like a maniac," said Zine. "He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane ... If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving. I was going 60 and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship. He was a maniac."

While a spokesperson for Bieber had no comment at press time, his manager, Scooter Braun, denied Zine's claims and said the councilman was just "looking for a headline." Braun said Bieber was cited for going 80 m.p.h. and that he was being chase by the photographers at the time. He added that the paparazzi resumed their chase a short time after Bieber was pulled over, prompting the young star to call 911 for help.

A law enforcement source said the California Highway Patrol is investigating the paparazzi for possibly causing a dangerous situation. The one thing Zine agrees with Braun on is that the paparazzi were acting irresponsibly. He claimed they were driving on the shoulder of the freeway and causing an "extreme hazard." Even after Bieber was pulled over by cops, he was reportedly surrounded by four photographers angling for a shot.

This is not the first time Bieber has run into trouble in his custom ride. Over the past year he's gotten ticketed for making an unsafe turn, cutting off a highway patrolman and reportedly for looking too young to drive.

'Dark Knight Rises': The Latest On Runtime And Score

With "The Dark Knight Rises" a little more than two weeks away, the amount of news and sneak peeks at the final film of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy have skyrocketed, so to keep everything straight, we've rounded up some of the week's most important updates from Gotham City in one, easy-to-digest list.

Get Comfortable
Empire reported recently that for "The Dark Knight Rises," Nolan channeled director David Lean in deciding the scope and scale of the film. The movie's war imagery certainly fits in the iconic director's oeuvre, which includes "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Bridge Over the River Kwai," but now it's confirmed that "The Dark Knight Rises" will also have a runtime to match. At 164 minutes, 27 seconds, it seems Nolan wants to make sure he doesn't leave anything out of his final film in the trilogy.

What It's All About
In addition to the official length of "The Dark Knight Rises," this week also treated us to a new official plot description that gave us a better understanding of what exactly has happened in the eight years since "The Dark Knight." Bruce Wayne has hung up the cowl in the intervening years, but the new threat from Bane will drag him back into the fray. The summary ends on an ominous note. "But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane." This certainly wants us to believe that things may not end well for Wayne.

Ready Your Ears
Hans Zimmer's original score for "The Dark Knight Rises" has slowly been revealed to us through increasingly long previews of each track. Now we have minute-long snippets of music to tease our ears as we prepare to hear Zimmer's music back the action on the screen. You can listen to the entire score by itself July 17, when the album hits stores.

Study Up
Nearly 50 pages of production notes hit the Web this week, so there is plenty of reading to do if you need to kill some time before July 20. The pages contain actual lines from the movie and some interesting questions from Nolan himself about the cast and characters. In the notes, Nolan teases the epic fight between Batman and Bane. "There are plenty of other large-scale action scenes in the film, but that face-to-face confrontation between these two adversaries was something I really felt was the centerpiece of the film," he said.

"The Dark Knight Rises" opens July 20.

'Best Spider-Man Movie Yet'? Fans Weigh In!

After the midnight opening of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in New York City ? one of scores of late-night openings that grossed a total of $7.5 million ? MTV News caught up with some fans, and the response to director Marc Webb's reboot of Spidey's story was overwhelmingly positive.

"Best Spider-Man movie yet, for sure," said Bree, 22.

"They were really true to the comics," said Jenna, 19, who also referred to star Andrew Garfield as "the perfect Spider-Man."

She wasn't the only one who weighed in on Garfield's take on Spider-Man. The actor's performance was a hot topic of conversation among fans after seeing the film.

"Andrew Garfield was a sick Spider-Man," said J.D., 21. "And Peter Parker!" added Amber, 22.

Terrance, 18, admitted he had low expectations for Garfield coming in, but after seeing the film, he said the actor did "a great job."

Naturally, comparisons also arose between Webb's version and Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy, which starred Tobey Maguire as the titular hero.

"The original trilogy was great, but this had as much heart as all three movies put together," said Carlos, 27.

So is it Garfield or Maguire who reigns supreme for Spidey fans? For one woman, the choice was clear.

"I prefer Andrew Garfield over Tobey Maguire," said Grace, 22. "I'll say that for the record."

Deadline reported that the midnight screenings of "The Amazing Spider-Man" earned $7.5 million, putting it on par with late-night numbers for "Iron Man 2," "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" and Raimi's "Spider-Man 3."

Like the wall-crawling Spidey, these numbers are expected to just keep on climbing throughout the weekend.

At least for Terrance, more showings of "The Amazing Spider-Man" may be in the future: "I think I would see that probably three times."

Check out everything we've got on "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Exclusive: Preview 50 Cent's 'You Will Never Take My Crown'

After months of anticipation, 50 Cent fans are going to have to wait a few months longer for the rapper's next official LP. Despite previous plans to release his next album on Tuesday (July 3), Fif announced early this morning that he'll release Street King Immortal in November, with or without the support of his longtime label home, Interscope Records.

"My official Interscope album is called STREET KING IMMORTAL due out in nov," the G-Unit CEO, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, tweeted early Tuesday.

5 (Murder By Numbers), which was widely believed to be his fifth official album, will now be offered to fans on Friday for free ? as what he called an "appetizer" ? instead of being released for sale as planned.

MTV News has obtained an exclusive snippet from one of the songs off 5 (Murder By Numbers ? a reggae-tinged, New York-flavored number called "You Will Never Take My Crown." "Gram after gram, time after time, I got the grind/ I can't help it, I got the shine," he raps on the drum-heavy track.

Claiming that he was receiving little marketing or support from Interscope, 50 recently lashed out at his label and the industry, saying it will be the last in his turbulent deal with the label.

"I said I was gonna put a record out that was completely up to album standard, and I'm gonna do that. I worked on this album for a long time," he said in a June interview with Philadelphia's Hot 107.9 radio station. "It's been three years."

Johnny Knoxville's 'SpongeBob' Cameo: Exclusive First Look!

Earlier this year, Johnny Knoxville bragged to MTV News that his upcoming cameo on "SpongeBob SquarePants" gave him "lots of street cred" around the offices of Dickhouse Productions ? quite an impressive feat, considering the kind of stuff that usually goes on there.

Now, those of us not employed at Dickhouse get to see what all the excitement was about, thanks to an exclusive first look at Knoxville's "SpongeBob" character, the aptly named Johnny Krill, a motocross crustacean and member of the "Drasticals" extreme-sports team.

Check out these exclusive photos of Johnny Knoxville and SpongeBob SquarePants!

In the upcoming episode ? called "Extreme Sports," premiering Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon ? the Knoxville-voiced Krill comes to Bikini Bottom with his Drasticals team, and superfans SpongeBob and Patrick will do anything to join them, including "extreme jump roping, extreme bubble blowing and dumpster diving," according to Nick. The episode is part of a one-hour TV event called "The Super Spongy Square Games."

And as if the street cred that comes with a "SpongeBob" cameo wasn't enough, there are apparently plenty of other perks, too, as Knoxville told MTV News back in January:

"They loaded me up with a bunch of schwag! Every toy they ever made ? skateboards, wristbands, all kinds of great stuff. They just don't quit with the perks," he laughed. "Then I got to do a photo shoot with SpongeBob. They let me do my own stunts for this episode. It was amazing.

"I also need to add that Johnny Krill is very handsome and very well-hung," Knoxville added. "And that's also probably why it took me two seconds to say 'yes.' "

Don't miss Knoxville on "SpongeBob SquarePants" on Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
