All week long, we're celebrating "The New Class," Hollywood's latest group of up-and-coming actors and actresses on the cusp of graduating to greatness. Tune in every day this week for exclusive interviews with these pending graduates and your chance to vote for the student body president - the one you think holds the brightest future in the industry.
She can sing, she can dance, and she can act: Julianne Hough has got it all. And that's exactly why she makes our New Class roster as this year's Triple Threat, backed up on the big screen by her work in "Burlesque" and the upcoming "Footloose."
After the jump, see what Hough has been up to and where she's headed over the course of her voyage through Hollywood!
Starting at Hogwarts
You might think her first major acting credit goes to "Burlesque" in 2010, but Julianne made her way to the big screen much earlier than that. She has a brief, uncredited appearance in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" as an unnamed Hogwarts schoolgirl. Not exactly Oscar-winning material, but anyone who kicks things off with "Potter" is off to a good start!
Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes
Having already appeared opposite singing legends Cher and Christina Aguilerra, Hough is off to her own leading lady status in this year's remake of "Footloose." She'll star opposite Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid and others in the retelling of the 1984 musical, which looks to add quite a bit of modern day context to an already classic story.
Rocking for "Ages"
But Julianne's voyage through musical cinema doesn't stop there. She's already locked and loaded for a part in "Rock of Ages," based on the Broadway musical of the same name. Just like "Footloose," Julianne is taking center stage, this time playing the love interest opposite Diego Boneta. She'll have plenty of company from an eclectic roster of co-stars, of course, including Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and more.
