Tom Cruise Joins 'All You Need Is Kill,' 'Les Miserables' Eyes Actresses For Eponine

After mulling over the project for many months, Tom Cruise has at last committed to Warner Bros' upcoming film "All You Need Is Kill."

Deadline has the news that Cruise has joined the project, which is being directed by "Jumper" helmer Doug Liman. He'll likely start shooting the movie after he wraps Joseph Kosinski's "Oblivion," which he is set to start after he finishes the current shoot on "Rock of Ages." "All You Need Is Kill" follows a new army recruit who gets killed during a battle against an alien species, and is reborn every day to suffer the same fate. When he starts realizing that he is becoming a better soldier as each day passes, he figures out that maybe he can do something to alter the course of the battle.

Check out the rest of today's casting news after the jump!

Actresses Vie For "Les Miserables" Role
What do Scarlett Johansson, Taylor Swift, Evan Rachel Wood and Lea Michele all have in common? They're all fighting for the role of Eponine in Tom Hooper's upcoming musical adaptation of "Les Miserables." The New York Post reports that all four actresses have already auditioned for the part, and they're just waiting for Hooper's decision. The actress who gets chosen will join Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne in the previously announced cast.

"Ender's Game" Makes More Casting Decisions
Unsurprisingly, Deadline is reporting that "Hugo" star Asa Butterfield has been confirmed for the title role in "Ender's Game." What is a bit more unexpected and exciting, though, is the news from Variety that Harrison Ford is director Gavin Hood's top choice to play Colonel Hyrum Graff. While Hood is also looking at other actors as back-ups, it would be pretty freaking exciting to have Ford join this project.

"Bridget Jones' Baby" Gets A Director
With the recent announcement from Deadline that Paul Cattaneo will helm the third installment in the "Bridget Jones' Diary" series, called "Bridget Jones' Baby," Colin Firth has now boxed himself in to star in the film. Presumably all the main cast -- Firth, Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant -- will be back for the romcom, but in a recent interview with MTV News, Firth admitted that he's "reconciled to the inevitability" that he'll return to form as Mr. Darcy. Honestly, we couldn?t picture it any other way.

Julia Roberts Gets Her "Second Act"
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Julia Roberts will both produce and star in New Regency's upcoming workplace comedy "Second Act." The film apparently "centers on a woman who has never worked and is forced to take a job." Roberts will produce with her Red Om Films label.
