"Hunger Games" fans will get their first look at an exclusive sneak peek of footage from the upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins' widely popular novel on Sunday night (August 29) at the MTV Video Music Awards. But those of you who've been keeping an eye on the goings-on at MTV News have already seen more than a few brief teases of the "Games."
We close out the week with yet another early look ? a brief one, admittedly ?�at the VMA exclusive footage from "The Hunger Games." Check it out below!
So does this clip take place during the titular Hunger Games? Or is Katniss on the run before she becomes District 12's tribute? We guess after the jump!
In all likelihood, this clip takes place while our heroine (unwitting Hunger Games participant Katniss Everdeen, played by Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence) is competing in the titular teen-killing tournament. We can spot her Mockingjay pin on her lapel, and it certainly looks like she is running for her life in this clip. Plus, look at how well equipped she is! We can't wait to see her use that bow in the movie.
When MTV News talked to Lawrence earlier this year, she said that a whole lot of training went into preparing to play Katniss.
"The training's actually really fun," she said in the spring. "I've done archery for like six weeks and rock climbing, tree climbing, combat and running and vaulting, but also yoga. Things like that."
We can definitely see the evidence of all that hard work in this first look, and can't wait until Sunday to see what more the sneak peek unveils.
