Liam Hemsworth is a bona fide action star, as unlikely as that sounds. After coming to attention as Miley Cyrus's beau in "The Last Song," the Aussie's taken his turn in upcoming beefy blockbusters like "The Hunger Games" and "The Expendables 2." Now, the push continues, as he's about to hit a Rock.
Deadline reports that Hemsworth is close to a deal to star in "Empire State," which they call an indie heist movie based on the story of a 1982 NYC armed car robbery. At the time, it was the largest cash grab in U.S. history. Can't you just see the taglines now? (Sample: "They said it couldn't be done. They thought wrong.")
If that's not enough machismo, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also in talks to star in the film in some unspecified role. Being that he's The Rock, it'll probably be something in your face. You've got to balance that out with the "indie" side, though, which means he could be somewhat understated and multifaceted compared to his usual tough guy stance. Imagine him as an old-timey barber who's been out of the game forever, but comes back for one last score. Imagine him as a strong, silent type named "The Fixer" who can snap a man's neck in half but cries while watching "Bambi." Craziest of all, imagine him as just a normal guy. Now that's unrealistic!
