Exclusive 'Warrior' Blu-Ray Clip: Behind The Fight

This writer's love for "Warrior" knows no bounds. (See exhibits A and B.) I firmly believe that if more people see it, they will jump on the bandwagon and agree that Nick Nolte deserves a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

Starting today (Dec. 20), "Warrior" is available on DVD/Blu-Ray combo and on Video on Demand and Digital Download. To celebrate the excellent release we bring you this exclusive commentary clip from the Blu-Ray featuring Maxmiliano Hernandez, who played trainer Colt Boyd in the film, and director/co-writer/producer Gavin O'Connor. Do yourselves a favor and see this film!

"Tommy was the tougher sell because you want an equal emotional arc for both of them," Hernandez says of the two brother fighters in the film played by Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. "I think Brendan is a lot easier to get to, you see his family you see where he is. You see his troubles, you see everything. Tommy can be misconstrued as this brooding, angry-at-the-world guy which is the very surfacey way the character could have been written."

Hernandez goes on to praise O'Connor and his writing team for drawing out the reveal of Tommy's character's complex arc, that it completely draws in the audience.

"It starts clicking, 'Wow this guy was a lot more emotionally damaged, whatever happened happened a lot worse to him than it did to Brendan," he said. "I think the audience starts figuring it out and it's great you get that reaction, it becomes 'I don't know who to root for.'"
