FROM MTV NEWS: Those of you who thought 3-D was an experience, you ain't seen nothin' yet! When Kanye West's experimental film "Cruel Summer" debuted at Cannes this week, it wasn't just a premiere, it was an event.
MTV News was on hand to witness the short film displayed on seven separate screens, alternating between different camera angles of one shot and a single wide screen display.
"I was very particular about having the screens separate, where your mind puts the screens back together, the way you put memories together," the rapper said. "I'm not the best director in the world, but I had an idea that I thought would be amazing to inspire people, like a dream of one day this being the way people watch movies."
The 30-minute film follows a high-end car thief, played by Kid Cudi, who falls for a blind Arabian princess, but isn't allowed to marry her until he helps her see (figuratively, of course).
Check out our full coverage of "Cruel Summer" over at MTV News, and read what Cudi tells us about watching himself on-screen.
