When the final figures for "Snow White and the Huntsman" and its weekend box office came in, there was almost an audible sigh of relief around Hollywood. The fantasy epic, which came in well above the studio's low expectations, out performed and avoided becoming the next in a growing line of tentpole flops this summer.
When MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Snow White and her Huntsman, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, at the MTV Movie Awards, the stars shared their feelings about the results and what the success really means to them.
Hemsworth, no stranger to box office triumphs after "The Avengers," told MTV News that he was more relieved that the fans had been responding positively to the film. "Yeah, it's always a relief, isn't it? The biggest thing, as you say, is that people love the movie," he said. "Fans are ecstatic about it and think it's fantastic. That's the biggest pad on the back. That's the biggest reward."
Stewart echoed Hemsworth's sentiments and said that she enjoyed the opinions of people who had not expected to like "Snow White and the Huntsman." "Yeah, definitely. I really dig this one so much. Like we say, we're very proud," she said. "It could have done nothing, and we'd still be proud of it and, it's cool that people sort of raised their hand and said, 'I like it too.'"
