Bobby Brown Didn't Get Whitney Houston 'Addicted' To Drugs

Their relationship may have been tumultuous and their struggles with substance abuse well-documented, but Bobby Brown insists that he is not the reason ex-wife Whitney Houston started doing drugs, a habit that she battled right up until her death in February.

"I'm not the one that got Whitney on drugs, at all," Brown told "Today" host Matt Lauer in an interview set to air on Wednesday and Thursday. "I'm not the reason she's gone."

Brown admitted that when he learned of his ex's death, he was saddened to hear she had started using cocaine again.

"I was hurt ... because, you know, me being off of narcotics for the last seven years ? I felt that she was, you know, I didn't know she was struggling with it still. But at the same time, you know ? listen, it's a hard fight," he said.

Regarding his involvement in Houston's drug use, Brown said that drugs were a part of Houston's life before they met in 1991. "I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn't the one that got Whitney on drugs at all," he insisted. "It's just, it's just unexplainable, how one could [say that I] got her addicted to drugs. I'm not the reason she's gone."

The New Edition member said that Houston seemed to have "a glow about her" the last time he saw her over dinner at a restaurant with their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, which was about a week before she died.

"She just looked like she was in a good place," he said.

Fun.'s 'Some Nights' Video On The Way, Xylophones And All

Last month, Fun. promised that the video for "Some Nights" ? the follow-up to their chart-topping breakout "We Are Young" ? would be "amazing," which was a pretty big statement, considering they hadn't even come up with a concept at the time.

But now, all that has changed. Because when MTV News caught up with the guys last week to discuss their upcoming performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, they let it be known that not only have they settled on a treatment for the "Some Nights" clip, but that, yes, it is going to be as amazing as promised.

"The 'Some Nights' video is coming; we're going to start filming it next week," frontman Nate Ruess said. "We're going to try and get it out as soon as possible. It's been really rough, because we've been on tour for the last two months, so we found a night off ? that was all we get, and we have to rush to a show the next day ? but I know we're going to make the most of it, because the director has a brilliant concept and it's something that doesn't put as much pressure on us, other than just to perform and perform well, and he's going to set an amazing scene around us."

And while Fun. wouldn't reveal all the details about the video, they did let a few plot points out of the bag ? namely, it's going to be a nocturnal affair ("There are lanterns," Ruess said) and there will most definitely be a xylophone in play. Other than that, though, well, you'll just have to wait and see.

"We're filming it through the middle of the night," guitarist Jack Antonoff said. "And Andrew [Dost] is going to be walking with a xylophone at some point, not to give away too much."

"Now, you're giving away too much," Dost laughed. "All right, fine, I'm walking with a xylophone."

The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

New Kids Off The Block, Brits Advance In Battle Of The Boy Bands!

The British boy bands are in it to win it!

MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands advanced into the third round on Monday (April 30), with U.K. group Westlife continuing their impressive run by beating out O-Town in the Sweet 16, and England's 5ive overtaking LFO. The two groups join English newcomers One Direction and the Wanted, as well as Big Time Rush and Mindless Behavior in the Elite Eight.

New Kids on the Block had a tough matchup against the Beatles. In the end, the Boston band just couldn't gain enough votes to get them through. But the closest match was a fight to the finish between the Jonas Brothers and Hanson. The JoBros ultimately overtook the trio in a last-minute surge of voting to continue on in the competition.

So what do the Elite Eight matchups look like now? Read on for a breakdown and remember polls close at noon ET on Wednesday!

Midwest
Westlife vs. the Beatles: Westlife's fanbase is no joke. Fans from around the world have been voting for these guys around the clock to ensure they make it to the finals. But the group, who are currently in rehearsals for their farewell tour, will have a tough Elite Eight matchup in the Beatles. The Fab Four barely made it by New Kids on the Block in the Sweet 16, so expect another close matchup in this round. Fun fact about these two groups: Westlife's first seven singles debuted at the top of the U.K. charts, tying with the Beatles' record.

East
5ive vs. Jonas Brothers: 5ive have surprised many of the fans watching this competition. They took out two of the biggest boy bands of the late '90s in the early stages of competition, 'NSYNC and LFO, and will now face off against the Jonas Brothers. While 5ive haven't been an active group since 2001, they fanbase is still very loyal. It might be tough, however, to get past the Jonases. The JoBros are still very much a group and are reportedly working on their next album, which may motivate fans to keep voting. This matchup will most likely be another nail-biter.

West
The Wanted vs. Big Time Rush: Rushers are making their presence known in this competition as they helped their group, Big Time Rush, overpower R&B chart-toppers Boyz II Men. Things should get very interesting now as BTR take on the Wanted: The Brit newcomers fought to the death in the last round, barely making it by the Monkees, so be ready for another down-to-the-wire clash for this pair of relatively new boy bands.

South
One Direction vs. Mindless Behavior: This should be a fight to the finish with fans of both groups casting votes like crazy. Mindless had a big win over NKOTBSB and they hope to carry that momentum into the Elite Eight. But 1D fans have also been voting furiously, giving One Direction relatively easy wins over their competition thus far.

Voting for the Elite Eight in MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands runs until noon ET on Wednesday, May 2. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite band made the cut, make sure you keep voting. Tune in to AMTV and MTV Hits for their boy-band video takeovers each day and make sure to spread the word on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB and like us on Facebook for updates!

Jay-Z Shows Off Brooklyn Nets Logo On 'Life + Times' Site

By Ade Mangum (@HollywoodAde)

When the NBA's regular season came to an end last Thursday, we witnessed Nets players sporting the New Jersey logo across their chests for the last time. The team released a new video this week as promotion for their first season at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this fall. The video, titled "Hello Brooklyn" (in reference to Jay-Z's ?Hello Brooklyn 2.0?) features Nets players throughout the years, including the likes of Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Julius ?Dr. J? Irving, and current star, Deron Williams.

The ad places a lot of emphasis on neighborhood, rebuilding, and pride, bearing a title that tributespart owner Jay-Z?s, track ?Brooklyn 2.0? from his highly praised American Gangster album. Following the new video clip, Hov also added a new post to his Life + Times website, showing off the Nets' brand new logo in black and white colorways.

Let?s hope that a change of scenery does some good for the franchise that has a few highs, but many lows, throughout its NBA tenure. As the Nets take off the ?New Jersey? and put on a new jersey many Brooklynites have high hopes that the Nets will bring a championship to their new home at the Barclays Center.

Iron Man Recast? Robert Downey, Jr 'Would Really Hate' That

With the Avengers finally assembling next week, Marvel Studios and the stars behind the heroes have already begun to look ahead to the next films set in the comic-book universe. At the closing night celebration of the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday night (April 28), Robert Downey, Jr. spoke with MTV News about the future of his character, Iron Man, and addressed recent talk about other actors playing the role in the future.

At CinemaCon last week, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige mentioned to Badass Digest that when it came time for Downey to leave the role of Tony Stark behind, a new actor could pick up right where he left off, like in the James Bond films.

But Downey told MTV News on the red carpet that he wasn't so thrilled about the idea of someone else playing Tony Stark. "I would really hate for someone else to think they could step into my shoes," he said. An infamous jokester, he couldn't help but ask, "I wonder who's playing Tony Stark next. Is it you? Is that what you're here to tell me?"

But Downey can't be Iron Man forever, and while the 42-year-old actor couldn't say for sure how many movies he has left in him, he made clear he'll be interested as long as they remain good films.

"I know things are looking like that they could go on for a long while," Downey said. "As usual in my book, it's all about quality control and delivering a product that you can have this kind of reaction to. If they keep doing that, maybe I'll keep showing up."

In Downey's immediate Marvel future, there's next year's "Iron Man 3." The past few weeks have seen actors like Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Jessica Chastain potentially joining the cast, and Downey said that he could not wait to work with "any or all of them."

"It's funny. Sometimes you have to call for a good old-fashioned British invasion," Downey said. "'Iron Man 3' is really shaping up to be something special. We start in a couple weeks. I'm sure I'll be leaking secrets to you as we move ahead."

What secrets, you ask? Well, it was recently announced that "Iron Man 3" would be co-produced in China. As for whether any filming would take place in the East, Downey was less forthcoming. "I'd like to tell you all my secrets," he said," but I forget them."

Check out everything we've got on "The Avengers."

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball Kicks Off Amid Protests

Lady Gaga kicked off her hotly awaited Born This Way Ball at Seoul, South Korea's Olympic Stadium on Friday (April 27) in front of 45,000 fans, and despite protests from Christian groups saying Mother Monster was "obscene" and could "taint" young people with her performance, the concert appears to have gone on without incident.

Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the BTW Ball's enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.

While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to elevate the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga's tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show ? which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly ? was considered unsuitable for children under 18.

The likely catalyst for the board's decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group covered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of "spreading unhealthy sexual culture" through "lewd lyrics and performances."

The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she tweeted her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn't), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga's most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.

Before the show, Gaga tweeted, "I can you hear you Korea. I'm shaking."

Gaga's performance was heavy on material from her Born this Way album, though her biggest hits, including "Bad Romance," Poker Face" and "Just Dance," were represented.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball set list:

"Highway Unicorn"
"Government Hooker"
"Born This Way"
"Bloody Mary"
"Bad Romance"
"Fashion of His Love"
"The Queen"
"Just Dance"
"Love Game"
"Telephone"
"Just Dance"
"Heavy Metal Lover"
"Bad Kids"
"Hair"
"Yo and I"
"Electric Chapel"
"Americano"
"Poker Face"
"Scheie"
"The Edge of Glory"
"Marry the Night"

Usher Says 'Scream' Is 'Just In Time For Summer'

Bumping beats, sexy lyrics and Usher's signature R&B bad-boy swagger can only mean one thing: the singer has once again hooked up with superstar pop producer Max Martin. Their latest collaboration, "Scream," picks up where "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" left off back in 2010.

Usher used that track to convince us to go home with him after a dizzying night of partying, and for "Scream," he's got us back at his pad and he's rocking our world, one fist-pumping moment at a time. While he opted to slow it down on "Climax," Usher is back to large-scale dance tracks on Looking for Myself's second single. And, he told MTV News, both tracks reflect the sound of the album.

"This album has many different views and many different perspectives," he told MTV News while rehearsing for his one-night run as the lead in NYC's off-Broadway spectacle "Fuerza Bruta," which also served as a place for Usher to debut the album ahead of its release. "And me and Max Martin, we've had success together in the past, and this was a record I felt represented the other side of the [album]."

"Scream" and "Climax" truly are polar-opposite tracks. Where "Climax" sears and broods, "Scream" celebrates and dances. Usher is excited for the chance to show all those sides with the two lead singles from the June 12 release.

"Whereas the first song was a little bit more artistic and a little bit more soulful, and it has done everything, it probably exceeded my expectations, I mean, from the moment I was able to give it away. I was able to kind of be reintroduced in a way musically, and thank you to [producer] Diplo, but 'Scream' is really like the next step. It's just in time for summer and the type of experience that I want people to get out of the album."

But the Atlanta-bred singer notes that the album can't be defined just by "Climax" or "Scream." There's a lot there to keep fans tuning in. "It's a ton of other experiences and a ton of other walks ... as I've had this long journey over the last year [and] every bit of what I've experienced I've put into a creative, artistic way," he said.

As for the video, well, that still has to be shot, but he joked that "Fuerza Bruta" might serve as the perfect backdrop for the clip ? or maybe not. "We might be shooting it while we're here," he laughed. "This is like a movie set, damn near ? sh-- you don't normally see with the launch of an album. This is pretty spectacular."

Waka Flocka Ready To 'Smash' Drake's Club Paradise Tour

Waka Flocka Flame is ready to hit the club.

On May 7, Waka, J. Cole, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz and French Montana will hit the road with Drake on the next leg of the Toronto rapper's ever-evolving Club Paradise tour.

"You know, the kings of the club gotta go to the club," Flocka told MTV News earlier this week at a Brooklyn, New York photo shoot. "They told me Club Paradise is the most popping-est club in the United States right now."

The 27-city run will kick off in Concord, California, and move through amphitheaters in Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago and New York.

"I want to go out on tour with the most exciting artists right now, and I want to make sure that I have songs with all of them," Drizzy said during a conference call for the press on Tuesday. "If we start getting into it and we start really vibing, maybe the last few nights, it's a collaboration show; maybe we do all of our songs onstage together."

Right now, there are few rap artists more exciting than the energetic Waka Flocka, whose latest single, "Round of Applause," has become a strip-club staple. "He's like, 'We the new era, we the new faces of rap, we the new generation,' " the Atlanta riot-starter said of a conversation he and Drake had. "So why not put us all together? I salute him for that. You know I'm about to smash that."

Though he's the headliner, Drake doesn't look at his tourmates as opening acts. Instead, he'll treat Club Paradise as if it were an all-star music experience similar to the popular Coachella or Bamboozle festivals.

"On this tour, I encourage people to get there early, because it's more [of] a festival vibe, if anything," he said. "It's one of those days that's it's going to start during the sunlight and the sun's going to drop, it's outdoors, it's summertime ... I want people to make it a day."

Aside from Drake, who are you most excited to see on the next leg of the Club Paradise Tour? Tell us in the comments!

Pitbull Goes 'Back In Time' On 'Men In Black' Video Set

Not only does the "Men in Black" movie franchise boast great acting and stunning visual effects, each of the three films features a pretty kicking soundtrack as well. For "Men in Black 3," which hits theaters May 25, Pitbull contributes the lead single, "Back in Time."

MTV News caught up with Mr. Worldwide on the Los Angeles set of the "Back in Time" video and he gave us a pretty cool walk-through.

"What we're doing here, to sum it up in layman's terms, is making history," Pit said. "The concept is basically all about the movie. The slogan for the movie is 'Back in Time.' In the record I say, 'In order to understand the future we have to go back in time.' "

The clip not only features "MIB3" movie scenes, it was actually filmed on the movie set, blending the Miami rapper's performance shots seamlessly into Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones' action shots. "As far as the sets that you see right now, it's just integrating and running parallel with everything that you see in the movie," Pitbull explained.

It was the Fresh Prince himself who recorded the theme songs ? 1997's "Men in Black" and 2002's "Black Suits Comin' " ? for the first two installments of the "MIB" trilogy. For the upcoming flick, Pit took over and used a sample of Mickey and Sylvia's 1950s classic "Love Is Strange" for inspiration.

Now that he's clocked his first collaboration with Big Willie, Pitbull hopes that they can work together some more. "I would love to follow in Will Smith's footsteps," he said. "We're working on the music for the movie, and hopefully, one day, we'll work in a movie together."

What do you think of Pitbull's "Back in Time" video? Tell us in the comments!

Brit Marling Talks 'Sound Of My Voice' And A Future With No Internet

It?s likely that your first introduction to Brit Marling came from our weekly Watch It feature. Her film "Sound of My Voice" had three of our writers buzzing about the talented rising actress, writer and producer.

In the movie, Marling plays Maggie, a present-day cult leader claiming to have time traveled from the future. Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a documentary filmmaking couple, infiltrate her group intent on exposing the mysterious leader and freeing her followers?who believe they were chosen to escape a future disaster as long as they obey Maggie's commands.

Marling co-wrote "Sound" with director Zal Batmanglij, a friend she's been working with since college when she was an Econ-major-turned-filmmaker. The film hits select theaters today and we caught up with Marling to talk about the challenges she faced playing Maggie, her interest in time travel and "The East," her next film with Batmanglij also starring Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page.

MTV: The underlying theme of this movie is community. What specifically interests you about the idea of community and being part of something?

Brit Marling: I think that we all feel that right now. It's funny that it's sort of a given that a lot of people will leave the town they grew up in and travel to some city in search of a particular career or dream or ambition that they feel is their destiny. I think that can be a really alienating experience. So, I think it's this idea of being able to get outside your loneliness and be part of a tribe by choice. It seemed like just a fascinating world to us.

MTV: How did the idea form to have a cult leader who claims to be a time traveler? Why time traveling?

Marling: I think time travel is so cool because it's a good way to talk about the unseen or the unknowable in an entertaining and thrilling way. And those were always the kind of books that I was attracted to as a kid, books where strange and magical things were possible. And maybe time travel is possible [laughs]. Our perception of things is so limited, the way we think of time is so linear, but maybe it doesn't work that way at all. I think we like daydreaming of the possibility of a time traveler being amongst us and thinking of it in a really practical, earthy way. What would that person dress like? Would they have time travel jet lag? If you fly from New York to L.A. your immune system gets really depressed and all these things are going on inside your body. Well, what if you traveled back decades in time? What would that do to your hair and your white blood cell count?

MTV: Maggie mentions not everybody has access to technology in the future. The claim seems strange since our world is overrun with technology. What was the idea behind that?

Marling: The idea that all this technology, while it has made us in some ways connected, it's incredibly fragile?connectivity can also be our weak point. If you shut down the internet for a week, what would happen? What would happen if you shut the internet down for a day? It's a little scary. Maggie's talking about a version of the future in which the internet has been shut down for a year and we're back to tribal living. People are growing food in their garages and need to learn how to use shot guns. It's a different time.

MTV: Did you find that there were some challenges in playing a character like Maggie?

Marling: Yeah. Oh my gosh, it was so terrifying as a character. I was so intimidated and nervous. For a while I got stuck wondering why these people are drawn to her, but rather than thinking about her effect on people, I started to think of why she needs people. Then I sort of got at the center of her, which is whether she is or isn't from the future. [Either way] she's human. Time traveler isn't an angel, time traveler is just a human being with vulnerabilities and flaws and weaknesses, and those are very present in Maggie. She's a very flawed person who seems to have a very extraordinary perspective. And once I came at it from that angle I could feel being inside her skin.

MTV: What did you want the audience to leave the theater feeling or thinking?

Marling: I think that any given day of the week you wake up and sometimes the sun is coming through the clouds in a certain way and there?s a breeze in the air. Maybe you just read something great or slept with someone great [laughs], and everything in the world is magical and extraordinary and filled with possibility. And some days you?re stuck in traffic and trying to return 500 emails in an hour and you?re like, "OK, this is such bulls---." I think the movie hopes to be thrilling and unsettling and provacative, but ultimately going to place of kind of wonderment. Wonderment and opening for Peter, which is both emotional and then also metaphysical.

MTV: You're in post-production for "The East." Can you tell us more about the film and your role?

Marling: It was an amazing experience. An incredible group of people came around that story and I think the story was a real test for the kind of person that would want to do it. Not everybody wants to make a movie about anarchy [laughs] and so it was self-selecting. The actors who were drawn to it were the right people for the story and we had an incredible time making it. It?s the story of a girl who's a conservative corporate spy who goes undercover to infiltrate this group of anarchists. We had so much fun making it. We?re still in the middle of editing so who knows what kind of film is going to immerge [laughs].

'The Raven', 'Five-Year Engagement', And More: Double Feature Friday!

This week at the movies may be remembered by future generations as "the weekend before 'The Avengers' came out," but there are a few movies worth checking out this weekend, "Sound of My Voice" being the clear standout of the group. If you're looking for some movies to watch this weekend, we've got your playlist.

Check out this week's Double Feature Friday!

"The Raven" & "The Crow"
Perhaps before heading to the theater to learn about Edgar Allen Poe's favorite bird, you can check out a different gothic feathered friend. Director Alex Proyas made a name for himself as a visual stylist with this comic book adaptation. The story of a murdered rock star, who rises from the dead for revenge, is remembered most for being the movie where Brandon Lee died. (The commercial for the Blu-ray re-release grossly brags that it's Lee's "final tragic performance.") Lee's performance is definitely one worth seeking out, and it's fun to see what kind of work Proyas was doing before making movies with Will Smith and Nicolas Cage.

"The Five-Year Engagement" & "A Very Long Engagement"
A few years after director Jean-Pierre Jeuent and Audrey Tautou made the world say "Awwww" with "Amlie," they reteamed for "A Very Long Engagement," a much different look at that challenging time before getting hitched. Instead of the winters of Michigan, Tautou and her on-screen beau had to suffer through World War I. Kind of puts things into perspective, doesn't it? "A Very Long Engagement," like "Amlie," grabs onto you through Jeuent's stunning visuals but holds on with a story that you can't help but see through to the end.

"Safe" & "The Bank Job"
Jason Statham occupies a unique space within the realm of action movies. Like the pony-tailed master himself, Steven Seagal, Statham has carved out his own brand of action. "Safe," by all accounts fits comfortably in that genre of wise-ass-kicker movies. One Statham film that never got the recognition of a "Transporter" or a "Crank," "The Bank Job" stands out as a different kind of movie. Based on a true story, "The Bank Job" is your run of the mill British crime caper, but one with a lot more intelligence than is usually allowed in a Statham film. So if you're a fan of His Baldness, The Statham, a viewing of this overlooked gem is highly recommended.

"Sound of My Voice" & "Another Earth"
Brit Marling took two films to Sundance in 2011, and both straddle the line between indie and sci-fi in two distinct ways. Each takes a low-key, low budget approach to a rather high concept, be it a second identical planet floating in our sky or a young woman claiming to be from 2054. Marling has proven two things with these movies: (1) That her quiet brand of science fiction is some of the most intriguing being made today, and (2) As an actress, there are few others working today as entrancing to watch. The films tackle different emotional topics, but play off each other in a way that enriches both.

What are you watching this weekend? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!

If one movie is never enough for you and you're looking for a flick to get you in the mood for this week's new release, Double Feature Friday is here to help. Every week we break down the new releases and pair them with older movies that you should catch before heading out to the theater. Or just skip the new movie and check out the classic we recommend.

'Snow White And The Huntsman' Sequel In The Works?

Despite the fact that we're still a little more than a month away from the release of "Snow White and the Huntsman," there are already rumblings of a sequel.

According to Deadline, Universal has apparently already begun talking to screenwriter David Koepp about writing a sequel to the film, which is one of this summer's most highly anticipated movies. Koepp certainly has enough credibility in drafting scripts for big blockbusters: He has screenplay credits on "Jurassic Park," "Mission: Impossible," "Spider-Man," "War of the Worlds" and "Men in Black III."

Naturally, we don't know what happens to the characters over the course of the film, but star Kristen Stewart has already expressed interest in reprising her role as the titular Snow White.

"To be totally candid and honest with you, when I first signed on to this thing, the idea of doing another franchise was like, 'Wow, [we'll] cross that bridge when it comes.' It was something so far outside my realm of thinking," she told MTV News when asked if she'd be game for more action and adventure as the fairest one of all. "I was so focused on the first one, and I thought, 'Maybe, maybe,' but I've got stars in my eyes. I'm literally over the moon about what I'm doing right now," she said of her work on "Huntsman." "Yes, I would love to [do more 'Snow White' films]."

"Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders is reportedly Universal's choice to helm the sequel if it happens, and judging from his positive comments about working with Stewart, it seems likely the pair could team up again.

"Kristen is a very driven, visceral, intuitive actress. From a director's point of view, it's great to get into her headspace," Sanders said. "We did a lot of work together on the script and character, and she really helped inform me how that character was feeling, which really helped my process getting the character onscreen. Kristen was doing a lot of her stunt work, she was riding horses, she was jumping from high precipices into freezing cold water, she was fighting dwarves ? she's gung-ho."

Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse Top Fans' Hologram Wish-Lists

NEW YORK ? After the Tupac hologram performance at Coachella made such a huge splash, the team behind the projection system floated the possibility this week of an Elvis hologram to perform with Justin Bieber. Even '90s girl group TLC is rumored to be considering a virtual version of the late Left Eye on their upcoming tour.

With all that talk, MTV News hit Times Square to ask fans which departed artists they would most like to see perform in hologram form. While some of those interviewed wanted to see other rappers like the Notorious B.I.G. or Nate Dogg, one fan thought Whitney Houston should get the honors.

"I love her, I grew up singing her [songs], just walking around the house when I was seven or eight," Shayana of Houston said.

Brits Amy Winehouse and John Lennon of the Beatles were also popular picks, and a few rock fans mentioned Queen's flamboyant frontman. "It would have to be Freddie Mercury because Queen were one of the all-time greatest bands and he was a showman," said a fan named Rob.

Blane Mader would like to see a hologram of another great showman, Michael Jackson.

"It's a really clich answer, but in my time I've never seen him and it would just be something awesome to watch," Mader said of the King of Pop.

Members of the Jackson 5 recently announced that they would love to have a virtual Michael on their upcoming Unity Tour. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show," Michael's brother Jackie Jackson told E! News.

'Die Hard 5' Is 'All Set In Russia,' Fox Chief Says

We already knew that "A Good Day To Die Hard" is headed to Russia, but what we didn't realize is that it's almost exclusively set there.

MTV News recently caught up with Fox CEO Tom Rothman at CinemaCon to chat about the many films the studio has on its roster, and he confirmed that "Die Hard 5" is gearing up to start this week. Even though its setting will be a departure from the previous "Die Hard" movies, Rothman feels this one keeps in tone with the classic installments of the series.

"It's all set in Russia -- well, there's bookend scenes in New York," Rothman said. "But it's John McClaine goes to Russia and I think the technical term -- which I don?t know if you can say on MTV, maybe you can -- is he f--ks everything up."

He might be, ahem, messing everything up, but there's one new character who's going to be there to bring it all back together. "A Good Day To Die Hard" introduces John "Jack" McClaine, the estranged son of Bruce Willis' character, and apparently the dynamic between the two of them is going to be a blast to watch on the big screen.

"The fun part about it though, 'A Good Day To Die Hard' -- and there's a great moment where he says, 'It's as good a day as any to die' -- but it's really a father/son story," Rothman said. "He thinks his kid is a screw up, but it's actually the opposite. The kid is more like the father than the father. Like all the best of the classic 'Die Hards,' it's very emotionally driven, and very kick ass."

"A Good Day To Die Hard" is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2013.

'American Horror Story' Casts Chloe Sevigny

Prepare for an epic battle of ferocious girl power-ness when Chloe Sevigny faces off against ?American Horror Story? alum Jessica Lange on the second season of FX's horror anthology series.

The actress is set to join the show playing ?Shelly the Nymphomaniac,? which EW.com describes as ?one of the mortal enemies of Jessica Lange?s character.? So. Freaking. Awesome. The site also reports that the writers wrote the part especially for Chloe. Even. Better.

Presumably Shelly would be one of the characters living in the mental institution that Lange?s character runs. While season one was all about all the morbid fun in the sun on the West Coast, season two will travel across the country to the East Coast. That should certainly add a new element to the total creepiness of the show.

According to show creator Ryan Murphy, that locale was teased by Sarah Paulson's medium character in the first season. "Something that Sarah Paulson's character, Billie Dean, says to Jessica and Taisa as she's sage-ing the house [during the 'Birth' episode] and talking about places where evil collects: We talk about institutions and prisons and things like that," Murphy explained. "That was the clue.?

Sevigny is new to the series, as well as other newbies like Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. It was rumored that French actress Lizzie Brochere may also play a nemesis to Lange on the anthology series. But, like Lange, many actors will return to the show to tackle brand new parts, including Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Paulson and Lily Rabe.

Judd Apatow's 'This Is 40' Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Ever wonder what happened to Alison's sister and brother-in-law from "Knocked Up"? The dynamic duo of Debbie (Leslie Mann) and Pete (Paul Rudd) had a few key scenes in the film, including Debbie taking Alison (Katherine Heigl) to the club where she meets Seth Rogen's character.

Now Judd Apatow aims to brings us back into the lives of the couple as Debbie celebrates her 40th birthday in "This Is 40." Continually lying about her age as she refuses to accept it, Debbie wonders if she's living the best life possible and decides she and Pete need to make some changes.

"I've made a list," she tells her husband in a scene from the trailer, which was released on Friday (April 27). "It's the 'do-better' list. We're 40 years old, if we don't do it now, when are we going to do it?"

Read on for more on five key scenes from the clip!

Counting the Rings
At the gynecologist's office, the nurses try to figure out if Debbie was born in 1972, '74 or '75 since her paperwork lists a range of dates of birth. When Debbie finally blurts out, "I lie about my age, OK? OK?" her gynecologist responds, "I know how old you are. I'm counting the rings." And with that line, we know typical Apatow humor will be on display in this flick. After that exchange, Debbie decides it's time for a change and makes a list of the top three things she and her husband need to focus on now that they're in their 40s: exercise, the kids' education and being patient.

Exercise Every Day
In one scene, Debbie works with a personal trainer, which allows the filmmakers to bring back Jason Segel's "Knocked Up" character, also named Jason. "I can turn your body into a boner machine," he tells Debbie. When she points out that every woman gives him a boner, he replies, "Don't sell yourself short," before adding in a whisper, "Barb doesn't give me a boner." Looks like Jason's crush on Alison's sister never went away.

Get Involved in School
As Pete confronts a mother whose son is picking on his daughter, "Bridesmaids" star Melissa McCarthy makes a cameo as the confrontational mommy. She tells Pete to get his daughter's meds right and Pete calls her son an animal. When Pete gives her shoulder a little shove, she screams, "You touched my nipple!" When he tells her he merely touched her below her shoulder, she replies, "I have very high nipples!" How Rudd kept from breaking into laughter during that scene is beyond us.

More Patience With the Kids
Another key scene opens with Pete and Debbie's daughters pulling each other's hair as they fight in the back seat of the car. It then cuts to them at the dinner table, where Debbie announces they're cutting back on the girls' gadget use so they'll spend more time outside. She suggests instead that they build a fort, to which the exasperated eldest daughter exclaims, "And do what in the fort?" When Debbie says, "You don't need technology," the youngest daughter holds an iPhone up to her mouth and says, "No technology," as a monkey on the screen mimics her words.

Payback Time
The final scene shows Pete spread-eagle on a bed, holding a mirror up to his crotch trying to look at ... something. (We honestly don't want to know what.) When he asks Debbie to take a look, she asks if they can just keep a small shred of mystery in their relationship. Pete replies, "I saw you have babies ? payback time." At least being in your 40s isn't boring.

"This Is 40" is set to hit theaters Christmas 2012.

Rihanna May Have A Role In 'The Apocalypse,' Says James Franco

"The Apocalypse" is likely to have plenty of celebrity cameos, but there's one in particular who James Franco has his sights set on: Rihanna.

During an interview at CinemaCon, Franco let it slip that there might be a role for her in the upcoming post apocalyptic flick. (Based on what we know of the planned celebrity cameos, perhaps that means she's going to be playing herself as a corpse?) No matter the size of her role, Franco seems genuinely excited about Rihanna's inclusion in the film.

"I think she's going to be in the new movie I'm doing, Seth Rogen's directorial debut," he teased. "I think she's getting a little part in that."

The main cast of "The Apocalypse"?formerly titled "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse"?includes Rogen, Franco, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. It's going to be an expansion of the short film Baruchel and Rogen made several years back, and the plan is to include as many cameos as they can get. Unfortunately, one of the celebrities who probably won't be a part of the film is Daniel Radcliffe.

"It doesn't look like he's willing to push things as far as we [are]," Rogen said in a recent interview with MTV News.

Even if they can't get a "Harry Potter" star, it's clear that Rogen, Franco and the whole gang are going to have plenty of Los Angeles celebs to play with, Rihanna included, if casting pans out.

Are you surprised Rihanna agreed to a role in "The Apocalypse"? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Gina Carano Ready To Get Her 'Feet Wet' In 'Fast & Furious 6'

Action fans rejoiced earlier this week when The Hollywood Reporter announced that MMA fighter-turned-actor Gina Carano was in talks to join the sixth "Fast & Furious" movie. It seemed like an inspired choice for the series that saw new life after "Fast Five" impressed last year.

MTV News caught up with the breakout star while she was promoting the Blu-ray release of "Haywire," and she spoke excitedly about the prospects of joining the action series.

"We got a call about two weeks ago to do 'The Fast and the Furious 6,' " Carano said. "We're in negotiations for that, so if that goes through, that will be a really cool opportunity for me to get my feet wet on another big-budget film and be around all these different types of actors."

Carano seemed pleased at the idea of appealing to different bases of fans within the action genre, moving from the art-house appeal of "Haywire" to the mainstream explosions of "Fast & Furious."

"I'm going to go from the 'Haywire' crew to the 'Fast 6' crew, so I'm going to get a very broad range of knowledge as far as people go," she said. "It's like two different high school groups. You've got the very artistic, and then you've got the action group of athletes, like hard-core. Very different personalities there."

Carano is in negotiations to play a member of Dwayne Johnson's team in the upcoming sequel directed by "Fast Five" helmer Justin Lin. As for whether Carano has begun sizing up her soon-to-be castmates, she said that's not something she has to think about. "No, I'm pretty secure. I don't need to size anybody up. I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about giving a good performance and understanding my character. That's what I'll focus on."

The actress wouldn't say for sure how close she was to signing on, but remained optimistic about her prospects. "It will be really good for me, and I'm completely open to it," Carano said. "If negotiations go good, we'll probably start filming that."

Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show

This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself.

Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks.

"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine ... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked."

The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen."

The films tackle different emotional topics, but play off each other in a way that enriches both.

Justin Bieber Accepts Award At Tribeca Film Festival

Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun were at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (April 27) to accept the 2012 Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award for disrupting "the traditional gatekeepers of the music industry."

Sporting a varsity jacket when he took the stage, the 18-year-old noted that a lot of what he does is a reflection of his relationship with his fans. "I don't think that I would be here without the Internet. The fans feel connected to me," he said, ABC News reports.

According to The Huffington Post, he recalled his early days of posting videos on YouTube under the moniker KidRauhl and how he was skittish of Braun, initially.

"He called me, and my mom was like, 'Why am I going to trust a guy named Scooter?' " Bieber said. "So she ignored him, and he started calling all of the places where he saw me sing in my videos. ... It was some really creepy stuff. He finally found my great aunt, who I had never met before, to try and get in contact with me."

Of those early days, Braun joked, "Either I was going to be the guy who watches videos of a young boy on the Internet and gets arrested, or I was going to sign him."

The award seems fitting, given how much Bieber's rise to fame has changed the way talent can be discovered via the internet, and can use technology to spread the word. "Ever since then," Bieber said, "We've been taking the world by storm."

Next up, Bieber plans to storm the charts with his June album release, Believe. He's expected to drop his "Boyfriend" video soon in the lead-up to the album.

Snooki Wants Baby Before Wedding

Snooki may be planning for her baby, but she certainly isn't planning her wedding just yet. The pint-sized reality starlet wants to welcome her first-born into the world before she officially becomes Mrs. Jionni LaValle.

"I mean, I do have a dream wedding," she confessed to MTV News on Thursday in New York City, with her "Jersey Shore" besties JWoww and Pauly D by her side. "But I definitely don't even want to talk about it or think about it because I'm not even ready for it yet. I just want my baby first."

JWoww confirmed that the ever-expanding Snooki hasn't put much planning into her wedding. "She's in pregnancy mode," Jenni added.

In footage from "Snooki & JWoww" shown to the Media on Thursday, Snooki drops the bombshell on her friend that she is both pregnant and engaged. While it seems JWoww is momentarily shaken, one ultrasound later, everyone seems on board for the baby. Though, there are still plenty of antics to be had, and they include the ladies apartment hunting, torturing their respective beaus and, yes, even hitting up a club or two for a night of dancing.

"I was very excited [when we found out about the baby]. I don't know if I was more excited for what's to come or the fact that we finally moved in together," JWoww said of learning that there'd be another roommate in the house, growing inside her little friend. "But it's not a dull moment. All of us, all eight of us [are going to help out]. It's gonna have a lot of aunts and uncles."

Snooki said the pregnancy may not have been in the reality-show plan, but they made it work. "When we film, it's all about reality and what's going on in our life," she said. "So it's not like we're going in there and staging things. It's what's really going on in our life. It just so happens that I got pregnant while [we were filming]."

Jack Black Sings Praises Of Charlie Kaufman's 'Frank Or Francis'

When we think of actors most likely to be in a musical, Jack Black, Steve Carell, Nicholas Cage, Kevin Kline and Elizabeth Banks don't initially come to mind, but a musical is exactly the project they've all signed on for.

Charlie Kaufman's new comedy "Frank or Francis" is a satire of Hollywood that follows a rivalry between director Frank (Carell) and online blogger Francis (Black) brought on by a series of bad reviews. Banks plays a celebrated actress involved in a love affair with Frank, Cage is "The Emcee," an actor famous for his movie ideas, and Kline plays a director with the world's highest grossing film in his repertoire.

When MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Black at CinemaCon 2012, the actor revealed the film is a musical with an "incredible script."

"[The script is] under lock and key. It is a musical," Black shared. "I will be singing. Everyone will be in fact. If you're in that movie you will be singing. There's no just regular talking it's all [singing]."

Bond Graces 'Empire' Cover, 'Skyfall' Trailer Debuts At CinemaCon

Not many details have escaped from the set of the next Bond movie, "Skyfall," but the latest issue of Empire and the Sony panel at CinemaCon have shed some light on the upcoming 007 adventure.

The first teaser trailer for "Skyfall" is set to premiere next month in front of "Men in Black III," but CinemaCon attendees got a sneak peek at the first footage from the trailer. Entertainment Weekly posted a play-by-play, so minor spoilers ahead.

The trailer opens with Bond engaging in a game of word association with someone ComingSoon.net believes is Albert Finney's character.

"Country ?" the examiner begins.
"? England," Bond replies flatly.
"Gun ?" the man says.
"? Shot," Bond says.
"Agent ?"
"? Provocateur," Bond says. (Hey, maybe he?s just a fan of luxury lingerie.)
"Murder ?"
"? Employment," Bond growls.
"Skyfall ?"
Bond hesitates.
The examiner repeats it: "Skyfall ?"
"? Done," Bond says finally, standing up and walking toward the glass while Dench and Fiennes look like they just swallowed their chewing gum.

The rest of the trailer plays out with a montage of action sequences and Bond uttering the kind of dialogue you expect from him. "Some men are coming to kill us," he says. "We're going to kill them first."

Producers also revealed at CinemaCon that the next Bond movie is set for 2014, so we won't have to wait another four years like last time.

If the trailer description isn't enough to satisfy your need for British spy action, Empire's cover story from the set of "Skyfall" just hit newsstands. In it, director Sam Mendes recounts the story of how he joined the film, which amounted to Daniel Craig approaching him at a party and asking him.

Mendes wasn't sure at first, but then he remembered how "Casino Royale" made him feel. "I think, like lots of people, 'Casino Royale' woke me up again to the possibilities of Bond. It seemed for the first time to be a real person in a real situation."

You can check out the rest of the story in Empire's June issue.

Boy Band Allegiances: Why They Matter

There's a full-on war happening out in the pop trenches. That war is being fought on the battlefield of the hearts of teen girls everywhere. The soldiers? Well, they are the new bevy of boy bands that are dominating the charts, the airwaves and the conversation.

Some people (mostly some older men that I know) are confused by it. They may not understand why anyone should care about boy bands. Well, here's why we do care: I think the rest of us are kind of into that joyful feeling of youthful exuberance that comes with boy bands. That feeling those five guys give you when they sing to you about love and how pretty you are. Heck, we've all been there. We've all had our Nick Carters or Justin Timberlakes.

These days, some girls are proudly waving their freak flags and declaring their devotion to always-cheeky British boy band the Wanted. Meanwhile, other girls prefer the floppy-haired, puppy love vibe of One Direction. Either way, these guys are using well-produced pop tunes about the nuances of romance to win you (or your little sister or teen cousin or some other young woman you know) over. And those girls feel they must decide ? they have to pick a band.

Girls, I understand that strife. Listen, I've been there. I spent my formidable early teen years at the height of the greatest boy-band battle of all time: the Backstreet Boys vs. 'NSYNC. Yep, I survived it. Like Katniss in "The Hunger Games." They were like the Peeta and Gale of the pop world. Who would I choose? Well, I chose. And I've never doubted my choice. So, to aid you with this modern-day boy-band dilemma, here's some handy advice to help you navigate the murky waters of a boy-band-pocalypse.

Back then, I happily declared "BSB for life!" Sure, I enjoyed 'NSYNC a lot. I had all their albums, saw them in concert, may have wondered what it would be like to date one of them. I was hardly a boy-band rookie at that point. As a kid, I had already been pretty obsessed with the New Kids on the Block. "Please Don't Go Girl?" Psh, try, "Please don't go guys ... ever." My love for boy bands has been and will always be a lifelong commitment.

The fever I had for the Backstreet Boys was beyond. It was "wake up early to wait in line for concert tickets" obsessed. It was "get my VCR ready to tape their appearance on 'TRL' " crazed. It was "break out my boom box and make mixtapes of their radio appearances and play them back ... over and over" fevered. I had posters and T-shirts and concert stubs and more posters and T-shirts and albums and concert specials and everything BSB.

I loved the guys so much that I may have even attempted to pen songs that I thought the guys might want to sing. (And no, you can't ever read them or hear them. I'm no Max Martin.)

So, as you can see, I get it. I get how you can love a band that much. But you might be wondering, how did I pick a side? Well, that's not easy to put into words.

I just did it ? I just picked with my heart. I think when it comes to identifying with a boy band, it's just something you feel in your gut. It's their music, their brand of boy-band bravado, their flavor. Their sheer existence and the way it speaks to you.

Why did I pick the Backstreet Boys? I don't know. I just loved them. Those songs, those melodies. Man, it didn't get better than that. They just spoke to me on some subatomic level. I mean, who could not pick a band who tells you "I'll never break your heart/ I'll never make you cry"?

Now, as I watch a new generation of girls caught up in boy-band mania, I get it. These are the boys you crush on. These are the boys you pin your girlhood dreams on. So, get caught up in the fever, girls. It only happens once. Blast the tunes, go to the shows, buy the merchandise. I promise you, one day when you're all grown-up, you'll look back on this time fondly.

Why? Well, to put it simply, nothing is better than your first boy band. Nothing.

Voting in round two of MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands runs until noon ET on Monday, April 30. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite band made the cut, make sure you keep voting. Tune in to AMTV and MTV Hits for their boy-band video takeovers each day and make sure to spread the word on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB and like us on Facebook for updates!
